HD Football Games

My father in law is a great football fan. He would love to have the DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket sports programming and I have no doubt he would subscribe to the NFL TV Package as well.

The NFL Sunday Ticket would let him watch so many games, we would not see, nor hear from him, anymore. Maybe not such a good idea to make him aware of NFL TV, haha.

Nah, I couldn't do that. I am glad he has something to watch, that he enjoys so much. So, let him subscribe to the Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket.. I enjoy his company anyway, even by watching a few games with him. His enthusiasm is contagious. :-)

Fire After Fire

I am weary. Each time, when things finally seem to calm down and life may get a little less stressful, another fire flares up.

Our youngest daughter's car shows signs of hick-ups and needs to be examined and repaired. That leaves them without transportation and another bill. On top of that, her husband got fired from his evening-job. We don't quite know the reason why, but it's another burden and concern.

It is always something else. There does not seem to be given any time to stop and smell the roses. Unless I take the time to stop. I am allowing it to get me weary. I need to stop, count our blessings, and increase my faith. God will provide. He always has and always will. :-)

Have a very blessed day!

Stress Relief by Debt Relief

We are reasonably financial fit. I can say that, because I just checked our Bills IQ and we came out at 90%. Pretty good, huh? I am impressed.

Still, I learned something from the tips they gave me. I loved the tips and they may give some Debt relief in the future, in case need be. It sure showed me to dive a little deeper into our retirement arrangements. Those could use some tweaking.

I have no doubt our youngest would not come out that good. They can use some professional Debt help. A lot of it has been accumulated due to having no health insurance coverage. With two toddlers and both born with a C-section, it added up pretty quick.

I am proud of her though. She managed to do a lot of Debt consolidation herself with the hospital. Still, it is only a drop in the bucket, but every penny helps.

She may not be aware of all the options she has for Consolidate debt. I have no doubt there is one for her specific debt situation. She would definitely benefit from a solution, which would be geared towards getting them debt free faster. It would be a load of their shoulders.

It is already hard enough for them and they could need some stress relief by debt relief.

Not Again

A part of my tooth broke of not too long ago. I already knew it needed to be capped, but I have been postponing the appointment. The previous time I had one capped, it took me going back 3 times, because the cap was made too thin and had to be reordered.

It is not so much the time involved. It is the injections to numb my mouth and the long time it takes for it, to wear off. Add to that the sensitivity of the tooth, after this procedure, which lasts a couple of weeks, and you understand why I am not jumping for joy.

Well, I can't get around it anymore. Better bite the bullit. Oh no, rather not. I may loose part of another tooth!

Toasty Warm With The Cabin Cuddler

Our oldest daughter is always cold. Right now, it is over 90 degrees and I just can't believe how many comforters and blankets she has got on her bed. I would spontaneously self-combust, if I had to lay under those. Not her. She has even closed her AC vent and is still cold.

In the evenings, she always wraps herself in a blanket. A result of that is, that she is constantly covering herself up, after having reached for her soda, or munching on something. And this is just mid-summer, don't get me started about winter!

Her Birthday and the Holidays are coming up and I thought I would get her a Cabin Cuddler. This ingenious blanket is fully contour-cut, has a pocket to keep her feet warm and covers every inch of her body. She would be able to reach for what she needed, without having to toss it off. She also can cover only her legs, if she wants to.

Cabin_cuddler

The blanket comes with an inflatable pillow, both held in a reversible tote bag. She can hang it over her shoulders and take it with her on her travels. It comes in black and cranberry. She loves that last color.

If she is not going to be toasty warm with this Cabin Cuddler, Then nothing will do it. But I would take it of her hands and bring it, when we would go camping in the fall. Hmmm, sounds like I need to order two.

Why

There are times when things happen that we can not explain, nor have an answer to. The why-question is so prevalent and leaves us without words.

We can keep pondering upon them and let them be very discouraging and allow them to lead us in despair and agony.

We cry out to The Lord....why? Why? No answer. It's like He is not there, but we are not aware, that He is carrying us in silence:-)

We only see one set of footprints in the sand.

Hitting The Road

This is so totally up my alley! We have been talking for a while now, about touring the country when we retire. Our ponderings included getting a nice motor home to do so. We would be as free as a bird, come and go as we please and where we please.

And then I come across this California RV Dealer site, with such beautiful motor homes, it makes my mouth water. The Winnebago products are one of the best on the market and Altmans offers them at such a price, it's like shopping in a factory outlet.

I wouldn't know which one to choose. That can easily be resolved though. Every holiday we could rent a different one and find out which would suit us best. We would also stay up to date, because we would be traveling in the latest models. Even the higher gas prices are no problem. The promotional discounts that are offered, make a vacation with an RV affordable.

When we have made our choice, we can opt for a secure loan application. Not only do the Winnebagos come with excellent warranty, but maintenance, repairs (in case need be) and accessories are all at the same dealership.

I wish we could hit the road right now!

Insanity

Pride and self-centeredness tend to twist the mind and lead to destruction and death. They are so ingrained in our life that we are simply not aware when they occur. We keep running into the same wall over and over again. instead of stopping and looking ahead.

Each time we are determined and committed to tear down that wall and stand there with the sledge-hammer, ready to knock it out of the way. But when time comes for demolition, we turn around, swing the hammer and knock out anyone that comes near it, believing we are hitting in the right direction.

Even after having been told, shown and seen which direction the wall is, our pride says it's not so and that the given directions are false. We know better and we do what we want.

How stupid is that? It's insane. Insanity is: to do the same thing the same way and expect different results!

Death and destruction alright, but not where it needs to be. Not a crack in the wall. Time to accept the help that has been there all along but was rejected out of that same pride.

Resveratrol and Cancer

Although it is not quite proven yet, Resveratrol, a substance found in the skin and seeds of grapes, is believed to be able to cure cancer.

A cancer patient, with less then 4 months to live, is willing to try and beat the cancer, by using it in large quantities.

You can provide and gather additional information, read the full story, or discuss and follow this topic at the resveratrol forum.

I will be watching it closely and pray for a good outcome.

Expensive Sunglasses Are No Guarantee

Me and sunglasses are not the best of friends. We have a love-hate relationship.

I have worn out several pair during the past few years. Either the frames came apart, or a glass came out. I was lucky enough a couple of times, to find the super tiny screws and rig them back together. Not that it did any good, they never fitted right after that.

I used to buy relatively expensive ones, since I was under the impression they would hold up better and offer more protection too. I also suspected brand name sunglasses would have more designs to choose from.

Well, I am cured. Many Cheap Sunglasses with excellent styles and designs can be found, that are just as good as the expensive ones. Probable even better, taking in account my experiences.

Another advantage of purchasing cheaper sun glasses is, I can have two pairs. Which would suit me fine. One to wear and one for reserve. I better quit fooling myself. Let's just face it, this vain person would simply like to alternate between different styles every now and then. Matching clothes and sunglasses, because I categorize the last as being accessories.

Besides, doesn't the expression go that variety is the spice of life? There you have it! :-)

Round and Round and Round He Goes

I can only imagine how much fun it must be for those little ones to make new discoveries every day. Take our grandson Kc. He loves to climb in his Opa's chair, when he gets the chance and sits in it like a king on his throne. Big grin, leaning back, his little hands resting on the arm leans.

The other day he found out by accident that the chair swivels. Wow, new game! He kept pushing it with one of his hands, walking round and round. All that time he is making a noise like he is flying an airplane: "Whheeeeeeeeee, eeeeeeeee, wheeeeeeeee". It is fascinating and entertaining to watch.

He stops and I expect him to be dizzy and stagger around for a while. Nope, it didn't phase him at all. He goes straight to what he wants. On to the next discovery, or fun toy.

What if he can't find one? That is most unlikely, but should it happen, we will create one. :-)

A Perfect Vision Again

I don't like wearing my glasses. Somehow, they annoying me, even though I can read a whole lot better with them. Contacts are definitely not something I would consider. Just the thought of having to put something in my eyes each days, grosses me out to no end.

I have been thinking about a vision correction procedure. A friend of ours had it done and has a 20/20 vision again immediatley after the surgery. She told us it was practically painless and she had no complications at all. Complications and risks are less then 1%. This affirms it's safety and success, which was also confirmed recently in a FDA panel meeting.

To qualify for such surgery, my corneas should not be thin, or irregularly shaped. That would show up on the results of an examination. The 3-D mapping, customized wave-front measurements of my eyes and an examination of my corneas will indicate, wether I would fall in the 20-25% category of ineligible people.

I could ask our friend for recommendations and read up on LASIK information. By doing some research, it shouldn't be difficult to find a good physician.

If even a world-renowned ophthalmologist and surgeon like Dr. Kerry D. Solomon, M.D. stands behind the safety and results of the LASIK technology, and 95.4 % of the patients are happy with the results, then that is convincing enough for me.

He Can, If He Wants To

Our little rascal can talk, if he wants to! He may not have everything down path, which is not to be expected either, but he can mimic perfectly.

Lil' Kc was playing with his cell phone. Opening it, pushing buttons, holding it to his ear and babbling along. He hands it over to me and of course, Oma plays along. I pretended to be talking to his little buddy, whom April baby-sits at times.

Kc was watching me closely. I gave him back the phone and told him Brandon wanted to talk to him. He grabbed it and put it to his ear. I said: " It's Brandon. Say hello Brandon. How are you doing?"

Without hesitation, a 'Ow aya doin' came out of his mouth. I was baffled. That was the first understandable sentence I had heard!

His speech is improving by the day. We try to encourage him, but why should he? Why talk, when he knows full well that all he has got to do is say "Huh?" and Oma already figured out what he wants.

Yeah, I know, it is not helping. Seeing that cute little face, with those big eyes looking up at me, I can't help it. Okay, maybe I can. Maybe I just don't want to. :-)

Saving Tips on Home Insurance

I just can't believe how much the overall cost of living has increased. I almost go ballistic, seeing how much we have to pay for only a half full shopping cart, whereas we paid the same before for a full load.

Any help to save money is welcome and homeinsurance.com gives some great tips to save on our home insurance. They made me aware for instance, that there are home insurance discounts. I am quite sure we are not taking advantage of those insurance company offers. Installing safety devices may decrease our costs substantially.

They also give you home insurance quotes, tools and tips and help you calculate your mortgage. Their aim is to get you covered quickly, accurately and easily!

That's money in the pocket, right there.

Gratitude In Helping Out

It was Sunday morning 3:30 AM, when the phone rang. Uh, oh, at that time, that can only mean something bad happened. And it had. Both April and Ray got food poisoning and April asked us to watch the kids, while they were going to the ER. Of course we will, no problem.

April was in a better shape then Ray and she didn't need for us to drive them over. She dropped the kids off about half an hour later. Leo was wide awake and as happy as ever, holding his bottle, smiling while he was drinking. Lil' Casey was in his usual fun making mood, although you could notice he knew something was up, since he got woke up so early. That didn't stop him though.

Amber took care of Leo and both disappeared in her bedroom, where they went back to sleep. Lil' Casey had his play cell phone with him and was just happy to sit on the couch, in between us. Talking and laughing. He managed to stay up till about 6, when I took him to the bedroom to put him to sleep.

April and Ray called, they were being taken care off, but it could take a while. Eventually, they got home around 10.30 AM, both feeling a bit better, but exhausted. The medication that was prescribed, took them out for almost the rest of the day.

It was around 5 PM when April came over. She was doing alright and Ray was feeling better, but still not up to snuff. Hopefully he will this morning, since he starts a new job. April and the boys left after 7 and I can tell you one thing, she left three tired people behind, haha. But it was worth it.

A good thing we always are up early. A better thing, we are able to take up the slack when it's needed. Combine that with spending an entire day with the grandchildren, and we have a lot to be thankful for! :-)

I Am So There With Renuzit TriScents

I am leaning back, as the smell of relaxing waves fills the air. The refreshing beach breezes give me even more relief of all the daily stress and pressure. I can almost hear the laughter of children, playing in the waves rolling ashore, as the fragrance alternates and I find myself in a soothing ocean oasis.

I open my eyes with a smile on my face. The scented oils of the seaside breezes collection of Renuzit TriScents fill the air of our living-room. They pretty much carry throughout the entire house, which is a remarkable, but very pleasant surprise. I am glad I got the starter kit and plugged it in right away. It makes a world of difference.

Ts_version_2
I find it ingenious how this air freshener changes scents every 45 minutes. It keeps our living-room smelling fresh all day long. The plug-in unit is small enough, not to be an eye-sore and the little light on it tells me which fragrance is currently being used. Since it lasts up to 60 days, I don't have to worry about constantly having to buy refills.

I love both the Morning Meadow, and the Seaside Breezes collection. If you like to 'lighten up' your air as well, visit http://www.triscents.com, to print a coupon for the Renuzit TriScents Starter Kit.

Learning Language

Last week, I was over at April's house and visiting with her and the boys. Each time we see lil' Kc, it seems like his vocabulary has grown. Instead of just vowels, he is throwing out more complicated words. Some are even real words, some are abbreviations, most are still totally encrypted, haha.

Opa came to pick me up and as soon as he stepped in the door, lil' Kc got the biggest smile and wanted to be held by him. Opa picked him up, instead of me (grin), but had to put him down again, because he was in urgent need of seeing the bathroom. He put Kc down, went to the bathroom with Kc following him all the way, until the door got closed on him.

Lil' Kc came running back to the living-room, stopped, made a movement with his hand as if he pushed something aside and said; "Piong!"
Both April and I looked at each other and she said:"That was a real word! I am not sure what it means."
I replied:"I think I do. It's like he is saying 'Opa is gone'."
I told lil' Kc that Opa was going to be back and he looked in the direction of the bathroom, saw Opa come back, and his little face lit up again.

I can't wait for him to talk to where we can understand him fully. I would love to know what goes on in that little head of his. I hope he has a feel for languages. I intend to teach him Dutch as well.

For now, he can teach me his language. Oma is an eager student. :-)

High Five

Lil' Kc has been testing his boundaries for a while now. He grabs things he knows he is not supposed to touch. When he has it, he usually walks up to either his mom or me, holding out his little hand, as if he was to say: "Look, I got it, but I am giving it back!"

He does listen though, when we warn him not to touch. We believe in praise as well, so we tell him he did a good job and in the beginning, we would applaud him. He loved it and had a grin from ear to ear. Nowadays, when we praise him on a job well done, he claps his own hands!

It's a joy to see him do so. What's even cuter is, his Mom and Dad taught him to give High Five, after an accomplishment. Just hold up your hand and say "High Five" and he comes running up to you and slaps his little hand on yours.

Yeah, that tickles Oma to no end. Okay, okay, I admit it. I just love my little buddy. :-D

Evening Primrose Supplement

This is a native plant to North and South America and also known under the name of sun cups, and sun drops. It is more commonly known under the name of evening Primrose, because the flowers open in the evening and stay open during the night.

There are several varieties of this species. Some only grow up to 4 inches tall, while others can reach a length of 15 feet. It does not require much space, or nutrition, to root and grow.
